NOOK
Trunk Stabilizers

Designer: Ferenc Laufer, Andras Hunfalvi
Client:RATI

NOOKs are clever luggage stabilizers, that allow any shapes and sizes of objects to be easily secured in a car’s cargo area.

Good design does not put existing functions into different forms over and over again, but provides an effective solution to a problem that arises. Rati's Nook devices are just that: they solve a - very analogous - task in today's hyper-digital cars, such as fixing small objects that fly, roll and roll around in the boot.

Practical use of materials

Easily attached to both horizontal and vertical surfaces with Velcro, they can be cost-effectively manufactured using minimal quantities of heat-resistant and high tensile strength materials, can support bottles and other irregularly shaped objects, but with the addition of accessories such as ropes, nails or rubber bands, the possibilities are almost endless and can even extend beyond the passenger compartment.

The essential minimum

We designed these objects and their packaging to use the least amount of resources, while making them incredibly durable and sturdy.
The body is injection molded from durable ABS, light and stackable that makes the shipping super-efficient. To decrease waste, for example, the black rubber dot was cut from the rectangle on the other side.

A pop of color in the boot

By deliberately avoiding the usual look and feel of dark car accessories, NOOKs target every car driver and even their passengers. With their fun hues they are pops of color in the usually dark insides of the trunks. We designed NOOKs to be loveable gadgets to make everyday chores a little more organized and less boring.
